Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health & social care in England. The CQC are responsible for regulating care for both the NHS and independent healthcare providers. Matrix Health Services UK Limited is a registered provider with the Care Quality Commission which means that we have met the rigorous essential standards of quality and safety and are therefore licensed to provide services.

Governance
Matrix Health Services UK Limited as part of its Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registration is required to meet the Essential Standards of Quality and Care as outlined by the CQC. Each Matrix site has a registered manager approved by the CQC who is responsible for the day to day running of that service and to ensure that these standards are being met.

We carry out regular audits on patient records and issue questionnaires to all patients following treatment to assess their experience of the service and to find out which areas require improvement.

Outcome scoring systems such as the Oxford hip and knee scores are used to measure the quality of surgery provided. Care pathways are also followed to help ensure the recommended length of stay requirements are being met.

Quarterly Quality and Governance Committee (QGC) meetings (MAC) are held which as well as including directors and orthopaedic surgeons also comprise physicians, anaesthetists and legal advisors.

A set of standard post operative follow up protocols are available to ensure patients are not attending unnecessary appointments.

Policies and procedure are in place throughout the organisation to ensure staff are aware of the standards required in all areas from patient care through to IT security to maintenance of equipment in line with COSH and RIDDOR.

Attendance at patient and public involvement meetings is also required for each centre.

ISO 27001

Matrix Health Services UK Limited has achieved ISO27001:2013 Information Security Management System certification. This certification lasts for 3 years at a time and is audited annually by an independent company who specialise in standard accreditations.

The Scope of Activities for Matrix is dictation transcribing, administration support and related consultancy services in accordance with Statement of Applicability issue 2.

Matrix Health Service UK Limited key policy Information Security Management System (ISMS) objectives are to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products that meet the client’s and applicable legal requirements, to practice responsible and effective governance based upon risk management and to enhance client satisfaction through effective application of its ISMS, including processes for strategic risk management of all information security events, continual improvement of the system and the assured conformity to client and applicable legal requirements. The continued suitability of the ISMS management system and achievement of the ISMS policy and objectives is monitored continuously and formally reviewed at specified intervals by the ISMS committee.

Matrix Health Services UK Limited has achieved the Information Governance Statement of Compliance which gives the company access to e-referral systems, NHS email accounts and the use of an N3 connection ensuring secure transfer of information. This compliance has to completed and approved each year to ensure continued use of these systems.
