As part of a pilot study Matrix Health Services UK Ltd provide specialist advice services on behalf of Durham Dales, Easington & Sedgefield (DDES) CCG to general practitioners in the DDES area. Referrals are assessed by orthopaedic consultants at the point where the patient would normally be referred to hospital and a decision is made as to which is the most appropriate course of action for the patient. This process helps to ensure patients are seen by the right service first time, thus preventing delays in treatment and avoiding unnecessary hospital visits.
Previously Matrix Health Services UK Ltd gained extensive knowledge in the provision of orthotriage services during contracts with Nottingham and Easington Primary Care Trusts.
Matrix Health Services UK Ltd also assists in the administration of an ophthalmology triage pilot in conjunction with DDES and Primary Eye Care North East (PENE).
